About Anupam
Anupam Shobhakar is a highly talented and award winning musician with an extensive experience in performing for live audiences in concert halls and theaters all over the world featuring classical and world fusion performances. Apart from being nominated for the first round of Grammies this year, Anupam has also been a member of the Pangean orchestra comprising of 50 Arizona's most diverse musicians.

He gained remarkable knowledge from a very young age and demonstrated proficiency in playing musical pieces in a historically accurate manner. Having a very high degree of self motivation, Anupam can express musical ideas profoundly because of which he has been able to collaborate from various musicians around the world, noteably Italy, France and the United States where he currently resides.

Background
Anupam hails form the Maihar gharana and he has studied under the keen guidance of Ustaad Aashish Khan(son of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan and grandson of the legendary Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan, who is acknowledged as the greatest figure in North Indian music of the 20th century). Anupam also learnt from stalwarts such as Ma Annapurna Devi and Pandit Satish Vyaas before starting out on his own mystical journey of music, experimentation and performance.

Anupam has always believed in the power of 'tayaari' which means a perpetual preparedness for new musical ideas. This comes from his extensive 'riyaaz' which is basically practicing the instrument on a daily basis without fail.

Musical Aptitude
Anupam has a profound first hand knowledge when it comes to composing, arranging, recording and finally mastering. He has an unparalleled capacity when it comes to putting 2 completely diverse musical idea into one composition while retaining the strongest elements of harmony, melody and rythm. It probably stems out of his prodigous aptitude for the technical side as well as the artistic side of music. He is capable of not only understanding the complex rythm timings but is also capable of explaining these to anyone from a layman to a session's musician whom he is recording with.
