stellar group of women will take the Fitzgerald Theater stage Wednesday during the 'Women's City Cabaret,' a celebration of the 90th anniversary of passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and the first in a series of events celebrating the Fitz's 100th birthday.

St. Paul poet laureate Carol Connolly will read an original poem, joined by poets Heid Erdrich and Desdemona. Special honors will go to the League of Women Voters, presented by Keesha Gaskins of the Minnesota chapter. The league is also celebrating its 90th birthday.

MPR reporter Suzanne Pekow will present a field report on an issue related to women's history, and in the works are audio postcards from Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and State Rep. Mary Kiffmeyer. Andrea Grey, who's producing the show for Minnesota Public Radio, says that as a woman in her 30s, she learned a lot while working with the accomplished women who will participate in Wednesday's show.
As Grey put this program together, she said she made two.
