Blend of blues, jazz, rock and pop at Wildwood concert

The Vox Concert Series is pleased to welcome Alison Scott, Kevin Bowe and Keith Pulvermacher to play an intimate evening of blues, jazz, rock and pop music Tuesdayat Wildwood Station in Wildwood Park. Scott is the strongest new voice to come out of the Minneapolis music scene in many years. Scott's soulful, organic, sound completely ignores the rules of cool that define so much of today's music and she does so with a steely conviction that's tough to deny. A young vocalist with a rich, expressive voice, Scott's style has been compared to Norah Jones and Alicia Keys, ranging in variety to include blues, jazz, pop and rock.

Working with platinum and Grammy-winning guitarist/producer Bowe, drummer Peter Anderson and bassist Steve Price, the band has been performing sold-out shows at Minneapolis venues like the Dakota, Fine Line, The Guthrie Theater and Varsity Theater and shared the stage with Chris Isaak and Nancy Griffith.

Joining Scott on stage will be Bowe, a writer/producer, whose songs have sold more than 12 million units in the last few years. After being discovered at a club gig by uber-producer David Z (Prince, Fine Young Cannibals, Big Head Todd), Bowe began writing for other artists. His first cut ("Riverside" on Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Warner Brothers debut "Ledbetter Heights") went gold and led to a major publishing deal.

Word got out about Bowe's writing, leading to collaborations with Jonny Lang, Leo Kottke, Robben Ford, The Rembrandts, Peter Case, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dan Wilson (Semisonic), Richie Sambora, Chuck Prophet, John Mayall, Three Dog Night and Delbert McClinton. Bowe's first production credit appeared on Shannon Curfman's Arista debut "Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions"; he wrote seven songs for the album, including the single/video "I Don't Make Promises." He also wrote four songs on Etta James' RCA release "Let's Roll," which won the Grammy for best blues album.

Pulvermacher will get things started by sharing his awe-inspiring guitar and vocals. In addition to playing lead guitar for Milwaukee's The Love Monkeys, Pulvermacher has embarked on a side project, writing and performing his own brand of blues inspired music.

Doors for this event will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. at Wildwood Station Pavillion. Tickets will be available at the door the evening of the show for $10. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to bring a basket of their favorite snacks and beverages to enjoy during the concert.
