Davell Crawford: New Orleans Jazz Musician Featured on NBC's the Today Show

Almost five years ago, New Orleans jazz & R&B sensation Davell Crawford, like many others, was tragically struck hard by the torment of Hurricane Katrina. The proclaimed “Prince of New Orleans" had his home, studio, piano and all other possessions destroyed and turned to rubble - and although the rebuilding process still has a long road ahead, Davell Crawford is beginning to see a bright light at the end of this otherwise dreary tunnel.

This is thanks in large part to The Jazz Foundation of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to servicing struggling jazz and blues musicians in need. Thanks to the Jazz Foundation, Davell is currently living in an apartment in New York City, and is now able to regroup his life and continue his career as an artist in ways that were otherwise unimaginable. The Jazz Foundation has helped fund for Davell's housing, new piano, and even his medical care. And Davell is not alone, in total they have assisted in treating over one thousand musicians nation-wide.
