Chamber Music America Accepting Applications for 2010 NEW JAZZ WORKS: Commissioning and Ensemble Development
Chamber Music America, celebrating its 33rd year as the national service organization for the ensemble music profession, is accepting application for its 2010 New Jazz Works: Commissioning and Ensemble Development program, a grant opportunity for U.S. jazz ensembles. The application deadline is Friday, March 12, 2010, 5:00 p.m. The 2010 New Jazz Works guidelines and application <http://www.chamber-music.org/programs/gr_jazz.html> are available on the CMA website. The New Jazz Works program is made possible by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
The program supports the creation and presentation of new compositions, activities that extend the life of the work, and allows for the ensemble leader to acquire or increase career-related business skills.
Chamber Music America was founded in 1977 to develop and strengthen an evolving chamber music community. With a membership of over 6,000, including musicians, ensembles, presenters, artists’ managers, educators, music businesses, and advocates of ensemble music, CMA welcomes members representing a wide range of musical styles and traditions.
