Richard Rodgers (1902-1979) is regarded as one of the four major American composers of popular music of all time. He wrote the melodies of more than 900 songs and 43 Broadway musicals. In 1948, it launched a movie, "World and Music", which told her life, along with one of his most important lyricists Lorenz Hart. The film was presented the ballet, focusing on jazz, "Slaughter in the 10th Avenue," which is danced by Gene Kelly (1912-1996) and Vera Ellen (1921-1981).
