Rodney Block and The Real Music Lovers
The band Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers, began 4 years ago with the common goal to write, produce and perform quality music based largely on the jazz genre. Since then, the band has sold shows regularly crowded. The performances range from private projects, business and community events. Some of the more notable performances include: campaign fundraising with the Vice President Joe Biden, performance for Wynton Marsalis (trumpet), Dave Hollister, currently artist campaign "McDonald's Coffee", various events of the government, with governor Mike Beebe of Arkansas and the Democratic Party in the same city. The band has a large fan base, people of all cultures help in the performances, ranging from the adult audience to the "generation x", many go to the presentations because of the wide variety of musical repertoire. The music, as has been said, is largely based on jazz, but plenty of styles of funk, rock, hip hop and r & b. Thus, allowing the creation of jazz as an aggressive, but also soft.
In 2007, the televised broadcast of the band of Rodney, the program AETN Presents: Front Row with Rodney Block was nominated for a regional Emmy. The band is comprised of Oliver Thomas (bass), Sam Carroll (piano), and Roderick Pleasant (drums). The band is promoting the release of their first album, "The Rodney Block Project: Outside the Box".
The song really builds bridges, breaking barriers and unites people. The Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers want to lead this feeling as well as establishing a musical relationship with musician friends in the city of Recife, on tour and in the near future.
