Monica Salmaso....


Born in São Paulo in 1971, Mônica Salmaso began her career in the play O Concílio do Amor, directed by the awarded director Gabriel Villela, in 1989. Since then, she has recorded and presented with important Brazilian artists as Paulo Bellinati, Edu Lobo, Eduardo Gudin, José Miguel Wisnik, Marlui Miranda, Guinga, Nelson Ayres and the Jazz Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo, among others.

In 1995 she recorded the CD Afro Sambas, a voice and guitar duet arranged and produced by the guitarist, Paulo Bellinati, which contained all the Afro-sambas composed by Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes. This CD was re-released in 2000 on the label, Pau Brasil. In 1996, she and Paulo Bellinati recorded the cut Felicidade, by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, on the CD Song Book of Tom Jobim.
She was nominated for the Sharp Award in 1997 as a Promising Newcomer in the Brazilian Popular Music category. Her second CD, Trampolim, released in 1998 by Pau Brasil, was produced by Rodolfo Stroeter and includes the participation of Naná Vasconcelos, Toninho Ferragutti and Paulo Bellinati, among others. Mônica Salmaso released her first CD through Biscoito Fino - Iaiá - in March, 2004.
