Edition Records Signs Deal for Their UK Distribution with Harmonia Mundi
2008 proved to be a very successful first year for Edition Records. Following a sequence of critically acclaimed, beautifully produced and packaged CD’s from Dave Stapleton, Matthew Bourne, Bourne Davis Kane, Paula Gardiner and Kevin Figes, 2009 looks even better with the first 3 releases of 2009 including Geoff Eales' new album with Chris Laurence and Martin France, Dave Kane's Rabbit Project and a new album from the Mark Lockheart Group.
In early January 2009 New Note, one of the leading distributors in specialist music in the UK went into voluntary liquidation prompting Edition Records to look else where for their distribution. Following meetings at Midem in Cannes and in London, Edition Records are proud to announce an exclusive new deal with Harmonia Mundi for their UK distribution.
As pianist, composer and record label owner Dave Stapleton says, “We are extremely excited about this new deal with Harmonia Mundi and can’t wait to get started in getting our back catalogue and new releases into the shops as quickly as possible. New Note’s voluntary liquidation is a huge sign of the times and we have to make sure that over the next year we are careful with our spending but I am confident the releases in 2009 will see us through to future years. At Edition Records, we are a firm believer in not compromising any quality in our presentation, concept or music to save costs and with our growing support from artists and customers I’m sure this year will be as successful as last year”.
