Jorge Pescara

Jorge Pescara, the Brazillian bass sensation, whose debut CD ("Grooves in the Temple") gathered rave reviews around the world, has the big talents. While playing with his band at Rock in Rio Cafe, Pescara was discovered by Arnaldo DeSouteiro in 1998, and was hired by Dom Um Romao as bassist for his group in 1999. Pescara also took part in an all-star benefit project ("Street Angels") for the London-based Bongo label, playing on tracks led by Luiz Bonfa
In his Grooves in the Temple album, recorded over four years in Rio and New York, he is backed by living legends of the Brazillian jazz scene (musicians who have played with Weather Report, Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes, Chicago, Joe Cocker, and Chick Corea). Pescara has been compared to bass legend Jaco Pastorius by more than one reviewer.
