Fatima Guedes was born on the heart of Rio de Janeiro

Maria de Fatima Guedes was born on Tuesday, May 6, at Rua Dr. Satamini, Tijuca, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. It was in this neighborhood who attended the primary at the Institute of Education and the School Azevedo Sodré. He moved to 8 years for the Long River where he spent his youth reading a lot and listening to music: classical influence of his stepfather, romantic hits the influence of fashion, and MPB by influence of his mother, a professor of literature who introduced the world of words. It was she who presented her with the LP "Chico Buarque Volume 4", when Fatima was only 11 years.

He began composing at 15 and 18 had a mature language in lyrics and melodies. At a meeting at the home of musician John Aquino, she met Renato Corrêa, singer, songwriter and producer at the time of the Odeon, who invited her to record her first album. That same year saw the singer Elis Regina who presented it in its special year-end TV Bandeirantes.

In early 1990 he moved to Los Angeles where he made presentations in jazz clubs, returning to Brazil a year later. Honed his singing seeking shade more serious and became a teacher, teaching and courses. It was recorded by almost all the big names of Brazilian popular music, such as Maria Bethania, Nana Caymmi, Simone, Alcione, Leny Andrade, Beth Carvalho, Ney Matogrosso, Andrew Rosas, Jane Duboc, among others.

Usually write alone, but now its partners are becoming increasingly numerous, and among them are artists like Djavan, Ivan Lins, Joyce, Sueli Costa, Jorge and Adriana Calcanhoto Vercilo. Nature lover, Fatima is in Teresopolis, mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. She is married to the bassist and sound engineer Zeca Winicki who has a daughter, Beatrice.
