KCSM is sad to report that Chris Nielsen, Producer and Host of ONE NIGHT STAND, passed away on November 25th, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Chris Nielsen was a fixture at WUKY in Lexington, Kentucky for 30 years and dedicated his life to his program. KCSM will miss Chris Nielsen and is indebted to him and WUKY for many years of Swinging Big Band Music!

Thank you for recognizing Chris Nielsen... He was even a better dad than a DJ and that's probably hard to believe. I miss him so much and his voice. On the radio and in my life. Music and family were his passion. He loved that people took the time to listen to his shows. He was 8 shows short of 8000 when he died. He listened to "My one and only love" with me the night before he died. I painted him a picture of Johnny Hodges as a gift because it was a mutual taste in music we shared. He could only tap a finger but kept the beat.. Miss ya Pop! Your boy Erik
