The Mu’tet is led by Jeff Coffin, saxophonist from Dave Matthews Band. Also a composer, educator, author, and 3x Grammy winner, you likely know Jeff from his 14 year tenure with the genre-defying Bela Fleck & the Flecktones (1997-2010). The group’s name stems from the word ‘mutation’, clearly reflecting Coffin’s philosophy that music must continue to change and mutate in order to grow. The band strives to expand themselves, as well as their fans, with music influenced by the deep, earthy wells of funk, jazz, African, New Orleans, Indian, folk, electronic, Gypsy, rock, Brazilian and other musical cultures around the world.
THE MU’TET:
Jeff Coffin – saxophones, electro-sax, percussion
Roy ‘Futureman’ Wooten – drums, percussion
Felix Pastorius – electric bass
Bill Fanning – trumpet, space trumpet
Chris Walters – acoustic piano, Wurlitzer, B-3,
Fender Rhodes, melodica
